There is no doubt that Spain is leading the way in CSP. Following the Real Decreto 661/2007, the CSP industry has taken giant steps with 3,000 MW announced in just the last few months and over 500MW currently under development. The industry is going from strength to strength but as with any emerging industry challenges remain – challenges you need answers to!

If you are already working – or indeed looking to work in CSP in Spain – then you are well aware of the Real Decreto’s ceiling figure of 500MW which will be reached sooner rather than later, and that the next transition will be handled by the Ministerio de Industria.

What tariffs will be set, what criteria will be used, and what does the future hold when you are set on securing your business and setting out your plans?

How about storage options? With over 3,000MW announced, Red Electrica Española needs to find new ways to deal with all the non-dispatchable power. Storage solutions will be key - not only provide with on demand dispatchable power, but also to ensure that CSP looks far more attractive financially. But is there a scalable storage solution that is ready for commercial deployment, what are the real costs and what will the pay back be? What is the real cost and pay back of storage and what major pitfalls do you have to be aware of?

Cost reduction in order to achieve grid parity is also vital, but as the recession tightens its grip and the price of oil keeps climbing, so are your supplies and therefore the net price of constructing of your plant. We’ll give you the answers you need to stay competitive.

Luckily, Climate Change and Renewable Energy Security are one of the top priorities of the European Union and the government of Spain. CSP has moved to the top of the agenda.

With challenges to be solved, partnerships to be made and business to be done, the 2nd Annual Concentrated Solar Power Summit (Sevilla, November 12 - 13) brings together the leading CSP business development, strategy, technology, financing and commercialisation masterminds, under one roof, to join together and drive forward the CSP industry in Europe! It’s absolutely essential that you join us.

Real Decreto – analysed and understood

At the centre of the agenda will be the sessions dealing with Real Decreto, which is bringing much anxiety among solar developers. Hear from Ministerio de Industria and Protermosolar, as well as from Benito Montiel from Junta de Castilla la Mancha, about what changes they are expecting the public government to lead and the vision of grid parity that the CSP industry must search for.

Leading CSP experts discuss your challenges

Acciona Energía, responsible for Nevada Solar I (64 MW) will give you the low-down on how to adapt your business model to a high inflation scenario, how to calculate costs when approaching the bank for financing, and whether to take an efficiency or cost reduction approach to technology development– which one will be the winner in the long run? Iberdrola Renovables is so confident that CSP will be a major player in the future energy supply. They’ll be telling you why they have innovation plans for their CSP plants beyond Puertollano (50MW), which is going online shortly. This is must have information you can’t get anywhere else.

We have brought you experts from across the globe such as SolarReserve from California and Wizard Power from Southern Australia, companies who are experts in solar storage through molten salt and ammonia processes – what can you learn from their technologies and what does the test data and financial numbers behind them say?

Unsure how to secure grid connection? Need to know what criteria your project needs to meet to get approval from the grid? Red Electrica de España will give you the latest information you need when applying for transmission and how dispatchability can get your project ahead of the competition!

Technical Updates

What are the prospects of improvement within each of the CSP technology in the mid and long term?

  • Eduardo Zarza, director of Plataforma Solar de Almería (PSA) quizzes Iberinco, Escuela Superior de Ingenieros de la Universidad de Sevilla and CENER to analyse whether lowering prices through technological breakthroughs are reality or fiction.
  • Solar Power Group share test data of their Fresnel technology plant in PSA and tell you why Fresnel might just be the right technology for your development.
  • Solel and Valoriza discuss licensing and permitting challenges, solar field supply chain, construction and maintenance that could save you months of trial an error.

Essential Supplier Information

And it doesn’t stop there. We have also asked the main suppliers to tell you about the newest technology on the market, what it can do for your project – and how much it can save you! Hear from SCHOTT, Solel, Dow, Saint Gobain and many more!

Developers Forum

You’ll hear from industry leaders such as Wizard Power and Solar Reserve, among others, about their unique approach to technology development. Plus – all new for 2008 - new developers tell you what they are doing to push their commercial agenda forward and the technology they favour.

Make the contacts that will supercharge your business

The contacts that you will make assure you of a direct line to the widest wealth of experience CSP that you could hope for. You are guaranteed to leave with the phone numbers of experts who can help you at every step of the way.

You simply cannot spend 2 days of 2008 more efficiently than being at the 2nd Annual Concentrated Solar Power Summit (Sevilla, November 12 – 13)

Over 600 CSP experts have attended our last two events – and this one will sell out.

Places are awarded on a first come first served basis, and immediate booking is strongly recommended.

Bigger and better for 2008!

We have listened to your feedback from our past shows that have attracted over 600 attendees. This year we’ll be including;

  • More hours of networking
  • More interaction in panel sessions and round tables
  • Opportunity for 1 to 1 meetings
  • Increased exhibition
  • Better venue with excellent facilities located in central Sevilla
  • Low Concentration Workshop
  • Tracked out agenda
  • More real experiences from the experts
  • Local + International Reach

This is an event where practicalities are at the forefront. No classroom theory or empty talk, just red hot strategies, techniques and methods to help boost your return on investment and sharpen your competitive edge in the CSP industry.

When you come to examine the Summit Agenda, you will see that the emphasis is on topics and issues that are high on your own professional agenda right now.
