The history of the event

MENASOL 2009 took place in Abu Dhabi in 2009 and it's first year attracted 150+ delegates. The top speakers included Masdar, Torresol, Air Liquide, Sol Focus, Flagsol, First Solar, Ausra., with the event sponsors being Dow Chemical, Saint Gobain, Mulk Holdings and Concentrix.

MENASOL 2010 took place in Cairo, and it's second year doubled in attendance with 300+ attendees. The top speakers included UNESCO, World Bank, African Development Bank, IFC, EIB, Abengoa, Acciona and Desertec. It also attracted new sponsors such as Siemens, Schott Solar, Foster Wheeler, Azmeel, Orascom and Tyco.

In 2010, the status of the event was elevated with it being held under the patronage of Egyptian Ministry of Investment and it's support from an Saudi Arabian delegation that included; Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Electricity & Power, Saudi Aramco, Council of Saudi Chambers, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and KACST.

MENASOL 2011 took place in Casablanca under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment and was endorsed by government and non-government agencies including MASEN, SIE, ONE, AMISOLE and ADEREE. With 350+ delegates and huge national support the MENASOL series cemented its reputation as the only forum bringing together stakeholders within the government and private sectors to discuss, network and plan for solar growth in the region. 

Now making MENASOL 2012 the premier solar event for North Africa and the Middle East, and a 'must attend' for businesses wanting to achieve their objectives in the MENA region.
