The US Solar market is booming with recent forecasts from SEIA suggesting that with proper investment, solar power can reach 10 percent of US power generation by 2025.  Reaching 10 percent will require between $450 billion and $560 billion in capital costs, that’s an average of $26 billion to $33 billion per year!

Currently the US gets less than one tenth of one percent of its energy from solar, but it’s growing quickly with solar power generation jumping to 8,000MW in 2008 from 600 MW in 2003. Around 4,000MW of this will be generated by concentrated solar-power (SEIA)

Greentech Media has forecasted that the investment for CSP & CPV could reach as much as $200 billion through 2020 totaling up to 29GW of installations, this investment is bolstered by growing support from local, state, and federal governments with New Jersey, Florida, Maryland, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Washington and New Mexico all increasing their concentrated solar energy incentive programs.

Meaning that CSP projects are literally burning up the agenda with over 4,500MW of CSP powered projects in the pipeline already, proving that CSP & CPV truly are the future of solar energy generation.
